Our financial literacy program provides practical application training to families in a variety of areas including increasing savings, developing a spending plan and setting goals. Our program has been in place since 2010 and we have served hundreds of individuals and families over the years.
Financial literacy classes are offered from two perspectives: one with Christian support and one without. The financial curriculum in either class covers the same information.

Mike served in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1996. In deciding on a second career, he was looking for a profession that impacted a person’s daily life and would provide Mike the opportunity to serve families in need. Realizing that nearly everyone seemed to be searching for answers regarding finances, he became a Financial Planner, serving in the Albuquerque area from 1996-2001. He was then selected to be the Director of Training for an international financial organization and served in the Dallas/Fort Worth area until 2006.
In 2006, Mike left the financial planning field and he, with his wife Karen, began teaching financial classes throughout Albuquerque and the surrounding community. In 2010 he became the Financial Educator for the Samaritan Counseling Center and continues to provide financial training throughout our community.
Mike and Karen have been married 39 years and have three adult sons.
